AceChords for Pocket PC

AceChords will only work on Pocket PC (CE3.0 through WM 2003) - it does not run on Palm OS PDAs.

AceChords is a library of over 1000 guitar chords. So simple to use and you never have to thumb through a chord book again.Simply select a root note and click one of the chords for it and instantly see the chord pattern and the TAB too. You can also save a custom practice list of chords - try that with a book.

Start
When you start AceChords, this screen is displayed.

The Help button will display a few simple help screens.

You can choose one of 12 root note buttons on the botom right half of the screen [A], [A#/Bb], etc. to view the respective chords. For this tutorial click the [A] button.

Chord Display
The list of chords for the root A is shown in the list box. The first one is automatically selected. Scroll down the list and click on any chord name to display it as well as the TAB for the chord.

You can also use your Pocket PC action wheel/button to scroll around.

Notice the number in angle brackets <2>, that indicats the lowest fingered fret for that cord variation - shown here an A-chord at the 2nd fret. These make it easier to locate the chords at a specific area of the fretboard.

Variations
There are several different variations of the A (Amaj) chord. Click the A (Amaj)<5> to see a variation at the 5th fret.

The notes for each string are shown in parenthesis at the end of each string, for this variation: (A)(E)C#)(A)(E)(A).

Your Custom List
You can keep a practice list of chords. Simply click the [+] button to add the currently displayed chord to My List.

You can add as many chords to your list as you want. The number to the right of the [My List] button indicates the number of lines in your list - lines do not necessarily mean chords as we will see later.

At any time click the [My List] button to view your list.

You will notice that the chord names in My List also includes that TAB in the list. Some entries are quite long and may not be fully visible in the list box, but when you click on any chord the Name and TAB are split between the 2 yellow boxes.

Simply click the [-] button to remove the currently selected chord from your list. Click the [Back] button to return to the main chord select mode.

Left Handed?
If you are left handed, when a chord is being displayed simply click the Lefty check box at the top of the screen and the display will flip. Don't think too many books do that!

It is as simple as it gets, an beats using a book! Now go practice some new chords!

Use the Exit button to save your practice list and close AceChords.
